Update from Room 16....

We are moving right along in 4th grade!

We have had so much fun with our science unit.
We conquered magnetism and electricity.
We made circuits and learned words like:
d-cell, electricity source, electricity receiver, closed circuit,
open circuit and schematic diagrams.

We have worked on the following reading strategies:
  • Previewing and Predicting:  Skimming the text and predicting what may happen.
  • Monitoring and Clarifying:  Checking for understanding while we read.
  • Making Connections:  Saying "that reminds me of...." to better understand the text.

We have immersed ourselves in writing a realistic fiction story.
We created a moment, developed a main character and created a problem and solution.

We are now doing to hard work of developing the plot!

All the while, becoming a team and earning a party for our wonderful transitions!
It is a fun, busy little class!!!!
